Tom Cruise did not nearly voice Master Chief, and Julia Roberts was not nearly in Halo. A casting agent approached Halo composer Marty O'Donnell at a party about the actors for Halo 2. O'Donnell never seriously considered it, believing big stars would have ruined the game.
