Linux 7.4 updates the perf tool by adapting all Python-based scripts to use the Python perf module for standalone execution. Google's Ian Rogers created the module as a C extension, resulting in faster performance. The release adds lazy sample callchains, GIL handling, and new exporters for treport, flamegraph, and sqlite/postgres.
