Jinhua Zhao named head of MIT urban studies department

Jinhua Zhao, the Class of 1941 Professor of Cities and Transportation, has been appointed head of MIT's Department of Urban Studies and Planning, effective July 1. Zhao succeeds Christopher Zegras, who led the department since 2020. Zhao is a renowned transportation planner and scholar.
