OpenAI gets chippy with Broadcom

OpenAI and Broadcom developed OpenAI's first inference chip, named Jalapeño. Engineering samples are running at target frequency and power. OpenAI claims the chip delivers substantially better performance per watt than current state-of-the-art. The ASIC was co-developed in nine months using OpenAI's own AI models.
