A research team led by the Institute of Plasma Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, developed an all-superconducting magnet system that reached a steady-state magnetic field of 35.1 tesla on Sept. 22. The field is about 700,000 times stronger than Earth's magnetic field, setting a new national record.
