Volkswagen agreed three joint ventures with China's Gotion to build lithium iron phosphate battery capacity in Europe. Gotion takes 49% of PowerCo's Valencia plant, rated 29.1 GWh, plus 51% stakes in Slovak and Moroccan plants. Volkswagen says Europe has no relevant capacity in this chemistry, which it expects to reach 40 to 60% of its European mix by 2030.
