University College Cork PhD student Kevin Walsh has led the development of Ireland's first national map highlighting coastal exposure to climate hazards. The map, part of the EPA-funded Detect project, uses an index-based approach to score and rank coastal points for risks like rising sea levels, storm surges, and erosion. It identifies areas of 'Very High Exposure' and assesses the population and cultural heritage sites within them.
