Google Opal Adds Agent Step for AI Automations

Google Labs has added an 'Agent' step to its no-code AI app builder, Opal, allowing the tool to dynamically choose models and tools based on a user's goal rather than following a fixed, pre-wired workflow. The update, which shipped in February 2026, includes new capabilities like Memory, Dynamic Routing, and Interactive Chat. Opal has also moved from the Google Labs catalog to the main Google for Developers site.
