Boris Cherny, creator and head of Anthropic's Claude Code, said at Fortune Brainstorm Tech that he manages tens of thousands of AI agents on some days. Cherny has not handwritten code in eight months. A year and a half ago developers ran one Claude Code instance; now the scale is vastly larger.
