Crypto-backed Michigan incumbent loses primary despite $2M PAC support

Donavan McKinney defeated two-term incumbent Shri Thanedar in Michigan's 13th Congressional District Democratic primary with 51.9% of the vote. Crypto-backed PAC Protect Progress spent over $2 million supporting Thanedar, who lost despite backing from Coinbase and Ripple-affiliated Fairshake. McKinney faces Republican Taras Nykoriak in November.
