Microsoft plans to cut less than 2.5% of its roughly 228,000 employees, according to an insider. The layoffs will hit sales, consulting, and Xbox divisions hardest. Microsoft previously cut 4% of staff in July 2025. The company cites AI and Copilot making roles obsolete.
