Astronomers found a 12.3-billion-year-old galaxy, named Low-energy-Kraken-Heracles (LKH), hidden in the Milky Way's center. It slammed into our galaxy about 1.8 billion years before the Gaia-Sausage-Enceladus merger. The discovery, published in Nature Astronomy, used Hubble Space Telescope data on 39 globular clusters.
