A former core infrastructure engineer was sentenced to 32 months in prison for locking over 3,000 devices on his employer's network in a ransomware-style attack. Daniel Rhyne, 57, pleaded guilty after being arrested in August 2024. He changed passwords for 301 domain user accounts and blocked access to 3,284 workstations.
