Big Tech Backs Shared AI Opt-Out Signal

Google, Microsoft, OpenAI and Anthropic announce support for a shared AI training opt-out signal in robots.txt. The IETF draft by Anthropic staff Kevin Kelley was published on Friday. Microsoft will honor the new preferences from 1 February 2027, replacing older tags. Google aims to support the signal in 2027.
