Coherent to quadruple InP wafer output for AI optics

Coherent plans to boost indium phosphide wafer production at its Sherman, Texas, fab by 4x to meet AI-driven optical interconnect demand. Nvidia invested $2 billion in the optics vendor in March. The $650 million expansion will double the factory's footprint and create about 1,000 jobs.
