Large Hadron Collider offline for upgrade

CERN shut down the Large Hadron Collider for a four-year upgrade to the High-Luminosity LHC. The enhanced machine will deliver 10 times the luminosity and detect 140 to 200 collisions per cycle, up from 60. It comes online in 2030.
