Android's native Desktop Mode shipped in the March 2026 Pixel Drop for the Pixel 9 Pro XL. The author found it clean and basic but lacking key features and functional flaws compared to Samsung DeX. Missing capabilities repeatedly disrupted workflow, making the mode not yet a viable laptop replacement.
