Memory costs for sub-$400 phones reached 59% of total bill-of-materials in Q1 2026, up from 32% in Q3 2025. Omdia forecasts a 22% decline in sub-$400 phone shipments and a 12% drop in the global smartphone market in 2026. Shipments of phones over $400 are expected to grow 5.7%.
