Google announced A2A at Google Cloud Next in April 2025. A2A is an open standard for AI agents to discover, communicate, and coordinate across frameworks. It complements Anthropic's MCP, which handles tool and data access. A2A uses HTTP, Server-Sent Events, and JSON-RPC 2.0 for transport.
