UPI Processes 80 Crore Daily Transactions

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman stated that India's Unified Payments Interface handles nearly 80 crore transactions daily. Since 2016, 17, UPI volume increased 13,000-fold to over 2,400 crore monthly. The government granted infrastructure status to data centres in 2022 and announced a tax holiday for foreign cloud providers in the 2026, 27 budget.
