Huawei Claims Ascend AI Chips Outsell Nvidia in China

Huawei rotating chairman Eric Xu said this week that its Ascend neural processing units have surpassed Nvidia in Chinese market share, citing internal data. The claim follows US export controls that pushed Beijing to favor domestic accelerators. Nvidia's H200 shipments to China remain under 1 percent of datacenter revenue. Huawei is deploying a 256,000-card Atlas 950 SuperCluster.
