Z.ai tops AI rankings with Huawei-trained GLM-5.2

Beijing-based Z.ai released GLM-5.2, an open-weight model trained entirely on Huawei Ascend chips. The model topped public AI leaderboards within a week. Z.ai's market value passed HK$1 trillion (about US$128 billion). The release followed a U.S. export ban on Anthropic's Fable 5 and Mythos 5.
