Nvidia relies on software tricks like Multi Frame Generation to mask modest generational GPU performance gains. The RTX 5090 is only about 30% faster than the RTX 4090 despite a 575W power draw. The RTX 5080 is about 20% slower than the RTX 4090 without frame generation. TSMC's 4NP process, derived from 5nm, limits raw improvements.
