Google Images adds AI image generation

Google is adding AI image generation directly into Search's AI Overviews, using its Nano Banana 2 Lite model. The feature rolls out in English over the coming weeks in regions that already support image generation in AI mode. Google Images also gets a dynamic gallery with real-time updates and saved collections as tabs, starting on desktop in the US.
