California gives state agencies half-price Claude access

California has struck a deal with Anthropic giving all state agencies and local governments access to Claude at half price. Governor Gavin Newsom announced the agreement on Sunday, making Claude the first AI productivity tool available statewide through the California Department of Technology's shared services portal. Anthropic will also provide free workforce training and technical support.
