Irdai Proposes Ban on Insurance Dark Patterns

Irdai proposed banning dark patterns on insurance websites, including requiring personal details to see pricing, and issued a consultation paper on distribution reforms. It plans to cut Expense of Management limits for life insurers to 15% in two years and 12.5% in five, and for general insurers from 30% of gross written premium to 20% of domestic GDPI in five years. Comments close October 25.
