Microsoft found a malicious Chrome extension posing as Perplexity that logged every search and address bar keystroke through an attacker-controlled server before redirecting to real results. Google removed the extension after responsible disclosure. The extension used a look-alike domain and requested permissions to deliberately intercept traffic.
