Scientists ejected from diabetes conference for distributing journal reprints

Five scientists were expelled from the American Diabetes Association conference for handing out reprints of a Diabetes Care editorial criticizing the Trump administration's attacks on scientific research. The expelled included Steven Kahn, Desmond Schatz, Aaron Kelly, Justin Ryder, and Irl Hirsch. The incident occurred outside a room where NIH director Jay Bhattacharya was scheduled to speak, prompting Bhattacharya to cancel and a different NIH official to speak.
