Microsoft launches Maia 200 chip in 2027

Microsoft announced Monday it will deploy its Maia 200 AI chip starting in 2027 to challenge Nvidia. The Maia 300 successor launches later that year. The Maia 200 delivers 1.7 times more output per watt than leading GPU systems. Each server rack holds 96 chips, handling seven times the workload. Manufacturing occurs via TSMC.
