EV incentives unveiled in Bangladesh as BYD eyes expansion

Bangladesh announced tax incentives for EV importers, manufacturers, and buyers in its proposed 2026/27 budget. Import taxes on EVs under $25,000 will drop from 93% to between 66% and 80%. ICE vehicle taxes rise to 155.88%. BYD signed a manufacturing deal with Runner Automobiles and plans an EV plant in Bhaluka.
