Peter Shor's algorithm can factor large numbers, threatening modern encryption. Shor is not worried, citing post-quantum cryptography standards from NIST. Google targets 2029 for migration, and a US executive order requires government systems to do so by 2031. Shor calls quantum computers "toys" that will soon stop being toys.
