OpenAI rolls out Lockdown Mode to limit data exfiltration in ChatGPT

OpenAI enables Lockdown Mode in ChatGPT for Free, Go, Plus, Pro, and self-serve Business accounts to restrict outbound network requests and reduce risk of data exfiltration via prompt injection. The mode disables tools that connect to external services or the web, including URL-based data exfiltration paths. It does not block memory uploads, file sharing, or conversation history. Lockdown Mode and Developer Mode are mutually exclusive. OpenAI states the feature reduces but does not eliminate data exfiltration risk.
