Munich-based fusion energy startup Proxima raised €411m in a funding round led by XTX Ventures and East X Ventures, with RWE and Google as strategic investors. The round brings Proxima's valuation to €2.4bn and is the largest-ever private investment in European fusion. The funding will build Alpha, a net-energy stellarator demonstrator near Munich targeted for the early 2030s.
