Lowdown: The EU's new rules for labelling AI-generated content

The European Union released the Code of Practice under Article 50 of the EU AI Act on June 10. AI deployers must label deepfakes clearly at first exposure using three EU-provided icons. Two mandatory layers of marking are required, as no single technique meets the Act's effectiveness, interoperability, robustness, and reliability requirements.
