Voyager 2 power-saving extends mission another year

NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory executed a power-saving procedure called the "Big Bang" on Voyager 2, keeping its three remaining instruments running for at least another year. Engineers plan the same procedure on Voyager 1, which has two instruments operating.
