Bill Ackman told Fortune capitalism is vastly more efficient than philanthropy at solving problems. His Brain Research Rehabilitation Institute uses nonprofit capital to spin out for-profit companies with staff equity. Jeff Bezos made the same argument in May, citing his for-profit companies' larger societal value.
