A report from the International Council on Clean Transportation found that a full transition to electric vehicles by 2040 would prevent more than 100,000 premature deaths. Currently, over 41,800 premature deaths are linked to air pollution from road transport. Removing combustion engines reduces airborne pollutants that cause lung disease.
