Vercel Labs released scriptc, an experimental Apache 2.0 compiler turning TypeScript into native executables with no Node or V8. Benchmarks show 1.78ms median CLI startup versus Bun's 21.29ms and Node's 61.78ms, but Hono required --dynamic, pushing 62% into QuickJS and cutting throughput to 18.4k requests per second. It remains explicitly experimental.
