US battery startups find defense lifeline

The Department of Energy awarded $500 million in grants to bolster the U.S. battery supply chain, with much going to startups. Coreshell received $50 million, while Lilac Solutions and Nth Cycle each landed $100 million for processing facilities. Defense demand is driving growth after EV incentives were eliminated.
