A user chose native ZFS in Proxmox over a TrueNAS VM for a home lab with an LSI 9207-8i and Seagate Exos SAS drives. Passing the whole HBA controller through to a VM locks the host from accessing attached drives. Native ZFS works well with unprivileged LXCs on a single node.
