Centre may issue 3 crore more ration cards

Union Food Minister Pralhad Joshi announced that approximately 3 crore new ration cards can be issued after states removed 2.21 crore ineligible beneficiaries from PDS lists. The Centre identified 8.51 crore ineligible individuals, and digitisation of the Public Distribution System enabled this process.
