UK APP Fraud Jumps 19% as Scammers Abuse Online Platforms

Authorized push payment fraud losses in the UK rose 19% to 576.4 million pounds last year, with total payment fraud reaching 1.28 billion pounds. Two-thirds of APP cases originated online, and 17% came via telecommunications. UK Finance called for stronger responsibilities on tech platforms and telecoms to curb the crime.
