China Southern Power Grid installed the world's largest flexible DC transformer, rated 770 MVA, at a 49-meter station in Guangzhou. The unit supports 350,000 households and 100,000 electric vehicles. Engineers reduced noise by 80% to 90% using sound-absorbing panels. Trial energization is scheduled for the end of the year.
