Blizzard announced Diablo 5 at BlizzCon, confirming a 2029 launch. Senior game director Joe Shely stated the game will support both solo and multiplayer play. The title will reintroduce Diablo 3's procedural generation for dungeons and the overworld, meaning each player's Sanctuary could be unique. The game will not feature traditional towns, instead following a caravan of survivors.
