Anthropic Removes Five-Hour Usage Cap

Anthropic removed a rolling five-hour usage cap for Claude Code users on its $200 Ultra plan, effective Friday. The company renamed Max 5x to Max and Max 20x to Ultra. While verified subscribers gain the change, some Ultra users must wait for account verification to lift the limit. OpenAI also eased limits for Pro subscribers a day earlier.
