Design Agent Loop Stop Conditions First

Peter Steinberger and Boris Cherny independently advocate designing agent loops instead of prompting directly. The five-stage framework (Discover, Plan, Execute, Verify, Iterate) omits upfront decisions on stop condition, memory schema, and verification boundary. A real stop condition is external to the agent, like tests passing or a linter clean. Memory drift occurs when loops run over a week without schema design.
