Tailscale, a Toronto-based secure connectivity platform for AI workloads, has gained a cult following among Silicon Valley AI builders after programmer Steve Yegge highlighted its underappreciated utility on X, with Y Combinator's Garry Tan endorsing it as essential for AI harnesses. Since November 2025, Tailscale has doubled its business customers to 40,000, including Cohere, Duolingo, Instacart, and Microsoft, and grown monthly active users to 2.5 million.
