Tesla Reports Record 236 Driver-Assist Crashes in July

Tesla reported 236 crashes involving its Autopilot or Full Self-Driving systems to U.S. regulators in July 2026, the highest monthly total on record. Four of these crashes were fatal. In each fatal case, Tesla's own data confirmed the driver-assist system was engaged, but the company redacted key details from its public filings, including the crash narrative and software version.
