UK car lobby group warns of £1.4 billion hit from post-Brexit rules

British electric vehicle makers face £1.4 billion in tariffs if post-Brexit local content rules take effect in January. The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders estimates a 10 percent tariff on 70 percent of battery electric and plug-in hybrid models traded with the EU.
