
Security researcher Chaotic Eclipse released GreatXML, a BitLocker bypass exploiting Windows Recovery Partition XML files. The exploit requires Windows Defender Offline Scan to have been initiated. Following the steps correctly spawns a shell with unrestricted access to the BitLocker volume. Microsoft patched the researcher's previous bypass, YellowKey (CVE-2026-45585), this week.
